Such a fast and responsive board. Speed is not an issue.

My favourite step down groveller. Heaps of paddle power and super quick. Turns on a dime, I’ve enjoyed riding most as a 2+1 set up. Glassing is really soft but that’s the trade off for a board as responsive and light as this. Goes best in 3ft and under.

All around great board, much more manoeuvrable than anticipated. Loosey goosey when you need it to be, and locks into a line when you need the speed. Pretty sensitive which was also a nice surprise. Rides like performance shortboard but with all the style of yesteryear

Love this board! Great paddler and gets me into a ton of waves relatively easy. Really stable and inspires confidence. Solid construction and have only one very small pressure ding.

I was looking for a board for months, coming into the winter swell I was still riding my only board, a second hand yet top condition JS HYFI BLack Box 2 at 5’7 and 27L. I looked for a long while, wanting to try something new after being a loyal member of the DHD army for years I had heard good things about Chilli surfboards. I was tossing it up between an A2 and a Faded, ultimate picking the A2 based on the boards spec and shape, as well as not having a 6oz glassing making the Faded a tiny bit heavier. My first surf was in solid conditions around a 2.0m swell on an ESE and a mate and I went to an off the beaten track spot named Seldoms in Perth’s North. The board went really well and this was the first time I had surfed a board above 27L in over 5 years. At first I felt the volume, it was unusual due to the fact I hadn’t surf a 6ft board in a long while, but it also made me feel more confident on my front foot with extra foam under the feet. Drawing that initial line generating speed was almost too easy, the medium rail have good hold on long drawn out turns and the single concave and pinched in squash tail make it easy to push for a more fluid release when you want to go full bottle, carving or off the lip. I use MF FCS 2 fins in Medium. All round the board is really good and performs in decent 2-6ft it’s at its peak. Recently surfed this board at 3-5ft Redgate and it held well in the pocket and was responsive. Only thing I would critique is the foam. Not sure why but it pressure dings more so than any DHD I’ve ever owned it’s a stock 4x4x4.

I live on the Surf Coast and ride a 6’2” Chilli Faded as my step up for days in the 6ft range. I’m above average at 181cm and 88kg so love that this is a board with just a tiny bit more volume but still a classic high performance short board. It’s fast. Really fast actually and generates speed effortlessly. There is enough rocker that it feels it will hold in anything and is easy to put on a rail but flat enough to be forgiving and not be twitchy. And when it’s 6ft building and there is a lot of energy in the water it’s great to have that confidence in a relatively short board. Great thing too, I can ride this when it’s 2ft and it still feels light and responsive like any good short board. It really is a great all rounder performance board.
