This board purchased for strapless kitesurfing small sloppy wind waves and it performs super well, lots of drive, speed, manoeuvrability and you can jam a turn if you see an incoming lip or section. I beefed it up with 6oz glass full deck. I surf also and expected this board to go well kiting in knee to head high waves only downside is FireWire don't make these shapes for kiting.

Really fun board to take out on smaller days. Easy to manoeuvre and perfect for an onshore. Always great quality from slater.

This is the board Ive been looking for, for quite sometime. 4 boards later, (6’3”, 6’6”, 7’2”, 40 litres 5’’9” epoxy), and the perfect machine appears, Thanks Kelly & Tomo). Waist to head high, I’ve surfed this board in thruster formation - super loose. Every thing I asked it to do, it did. Take off is really good for an old bloke. This board makes the latest of drops and gives me time to get set and then a quick turn and I’m around the foam and into the face, off and racing. Simple to turn but its still quite stable. I have felt so relaxed surfing this board that I even enjoy sharing waves. I used to struggle paddling into waves and competing with the younger surfers. I looked for more volume and more length but still didn’t achieve what I needed, (paddle power and manoeuvrability). Finally, the Cymatic appeared and it has allowed me to get my confidence back competing with the younger surfer, taking off in the more critical wave positions and making sections using the board’s manoeuvrability and drive / speed to help me. I recommend the Cymatic to the older surfer who still wants to surf a performance board before the inevitable Father Time makes you move to the long board and soul surfing, (I may not slash and turn like I used to but I can drive hard off the bottom and cut under the lip before driving into my next section.. Surfing maybe a sport but it is also a lifestyle. the Cymatic 5’11” has helped rejuvenate my love of the ocean and surfing. Yallingup, Trigg, Toms, Guillateen’s.... its just the beginning. I cant wait for COVID to get under control and try this board in Bali at my favourite spots. I’m very confident and supported with the Cymatic as my traveller board. Good luck and enjoy what you do and have faith the Cymatic may be your last board. I love mine and cant see myself riding anything else in the next ten years.

Best board ever Had a 6’0” Cymatic as well before putting on some kilos and up sizing The cymatic is super fast and manoeuvrable, plenty of paddle and super fun to ride. Probably suit experienced surfers More but could still be used by learners as it holds its width due to the wider nose Super fast even in weaker waves and holds in well in larger hollow let surf possible due to the channels and bat tail

I love this board so much that i use it pretty much everyday even in small surf, as long as the waves are a bit punchy this board flies down the line and pivots pretty well too. At first i wasn't really sure about it mainly cause of the bold nose and i was hanging more towards the Scifi, but after doing some research and watching some reviews i went for it and i haven't looked back since. still figuring out the right fins setup for this board which has been a fun proces

Super duper electric board. Mad fun in almost all conditions and sizes. Tends to draw out longer carves than top to bottom turns. Great board to swap fins in and out. So many personalities. The only downer is the construction is weak.

I wasn't too sure about getting this board mainly cause of the bold nose, so i almost bought the Sci-Fi instead but after doing a lot of online research i decided to get it and i haven't looked back since. i use it pretty much everyday even in small surf from 1 to 2 foot, as long as the waves are a bit punchy this board goes really well, it flies down the line with very little effort and it pivots pretty well too. it is recommended playing around with fins combining different sets in the quad rears.

Much smaller than I’d normally ride (I’m 90kg and 6 foot tall) but has the volume of my 6’5 step up. My 5’9 Cymatic paddles into double overhead waves easily. Definitely use as a quad for larger waves and thruster for anything up to head high. Extremely fast as a quad to beat large sections if needed. Still very loose if you push it in turns. It can slide easily as a quad but still controlled. In smaller waves as a thruster, it is still fast and skateboard loose when right on the tail. It will go anywhere you point it. It prefers wallier waves over fat waves. Significant rocker slows the board a little through fat sections. Order with volume rather than size. Even go a size smaller to maximise rails biting as it has reasonably thick rails which you want to bite into the wave rather than bounce out and ride flat through turns. Takes a little time to get used to but when it clicks! Wow! Very fun once you work it out. I also have a 5’9 Omni for when the waves are not as wally. Incredible designs which are small under foot but funner than anything I’ve ridden. Happy ripping
