Catches every wave you paddle for. Easy stable board to ride. Hard work to dig in a rail and do a hard turn. Definitely a carving board, not made for radical stuff. Great for really bad small conditions.

The Seaside paddles extremely well getting into waves early. It's bottom design and narrow rail at the tail helps it hold into the wave and generate speed. Loving the board and it makes me wonder about the Seaside and Beyond as it has about the same volume at 6'8".

I’m in a love hate relationship with this board! Have had some of my best waves ever on it but if I’m if I haven’t surfed in a while, you really have to work to get into waves. Perhaps it’s my height and the board being much shorted and flatter that I’m used to but I often find it hard to get into the take off once it gets a little steep. The flatness of this board that gives it such speed and acceleration does come at a price. Would buy again but it’s def not a quiver killer. Has its place but once the waves get good you’ll be wanting something that will get you up and going a little earlier.

Beautiful board and very good quality. I would recommend this board for a surfer transitioning from a foamie or a competent bigger surfer.

Super fun board! I got this as a board to keep me grinning in small summer slop...but I’m also poor and this is the first brand new board I’ve ever owned. I went for this one to get a bit of bang for my thousand bucks but also fill that small wave box. It is a great board. Really fast, glides around sections and you can turn like fighter pilot or throw it around as promised. I got some twin keels to go with it as well as the quads- I’m yet to try out but told they work well too, and give it a couple more dimensions for smaller days too. The paddle is good, and I love the length. I am a hungry and lazy beaver though so I’d be tempted to get more foam and cop another inch if I had my time again...but seriously, can’t complain.

This is just the perfect board for me! I was looking for a board to replace my beginner softboard and started to try the ones in the surf school. They all looked so "violent"!! With sharp and pointed noses and so narrow. I could'n stop thinking about my wipeouts with those boards, it just terrified me. Then I rented an Hydroshort and it was dreamy! Is the most smooth ride I've done yet she goes fast and my spot has some rough waves. So easy to paddle! She enters the waves and lets you know you are save and in charge. I didn't even know I was able to surf that level! Never thoutght that I knew how to manouver a surfboard. The Hydroshort is like my soulmate.

This is the board Ive been looking for, for quite sometime. 4 boards later, (6’3”, 6’6”, 7’2”, 40 litres 5’’9” epoxy), and the perfect machine appears, Thanks Kelly & Tomo). Waist to head high, I’ve surfed this board in thruster formation - super loose. Every thing I asked it to do, it did. Take off is really good for an old bloke. This board makes the latest of drops and gives me time to get set and then a quick turn and I’m around the foam and into the face, off and racing. Simple to turn but its still quite stable. I have felt so relaxed surfing this board that I even enjoy sharing waves. I used to struggle paddling into waves and competing with the younger surfers. I looked for more volume and more length but still didn’t achieve what I needed, (paddle power and manoeuvrability). Finally, the Cymatic appeared and it has allowed me to get my confidence back competing with the younger surfer, taking off in the more critical wave positions and making sections using the board’s manoeuvrability and drive / speed to help me. I recommend the Cymatic to the older surfer who still wants to surf a performance board before the inevitable Father Time makes you move to the long board and soul surfing, (I may not slash and turn like I used to but I can drive hard off the bottom and cut under the lip before driving into my next section.. Surfing maybe a sport but it is also a lifestyle. the Cymatic 5’11” has helped rejuvenate my love of the ocean and surfing. Yallingup, Trigg, Toms, Guillateen’s.... its just the beginning. I cant wait for COVID to get under control and try this board in Bali at my favourite spots. I’m very confident and supported with the Cymatic as my traveller board. Good luck and enjoy what you do and have faith the Cymatic may be your last board. I love mine and cant see myself riding anything else in the next ten years.

Excellent board for grovelling and performance. I’ve had my Greedy Beaver for 2 years now and it’s my go to board. I’m still learning so it gives me the extra paddle power but still easy to duck dive. The tail is very narrow which gives it a performance feel and allows you execute manoeuvres. Board is also very durable and made. Highly recommend.

Heaps of volume up front which makes for easy paddling but hard to duck dive. I also find I have to get my front foot quite far forward to drop in on some steeper waves. Easy to paddle and learn on. Fast once you are up.

It is my favourite board so far ! Great groveler that paddles easily and flies down the line. With rob machado quad fins it has plenty of hold and release when you need it. A must have in your quiver !
