Its a fun board in small surf but only if you size it right. I got the 5’10 and figured since I ride a 6’0 30L shortboard this would be heaps of foam, sadly not. It surprisingly does not paddle as well as you would expect from this style of board. Would be best ridden as long, or a bit longer than your shortboard. Once up and riding though its a ton of fun in 1-2ft surf. I rode it mostly as a single + side bites or straight single and it was flowy and easy to surf. It gets a bit hairy at 3ft+ but its not really intended for that anyway.

Still the best hybrid surfboard I've ever surfed. Really fast with pretty good manoeuvrability. Can do cutbacks and pump easily. Only downside is that it picks up ding easily with the standard construction so I would recommend going for heavier glass if ordering a custom.

One of the funnest boards I’ve ever owned, so much drive and speed through flat sections but still doesn’t feel slow at all when you need to get through sections. I’m 6’1 and was a bit worried at first having a board this small but it holds through turns and holds its rail in surf up to about 6ft before you start getting any jitters.

I love my hypto krypto so much! Such a smooth board glides perfectly along waves any shape and size. I got mine made a little bigger then what i’m used too (usually 5’9 got a 6ft) so it’s great for paddling and also just makes the outside turns so much more smooth. Highly recommend if you are looking to take your surfing to the next level or just looking for something that won’t let you down! Bloody great board 10/10!!

This board is really easy for me to paddle onto waves by myself and is really smooth to ride. It is pretty fast too, I like it alot. I still have to build my muscles up to duck dive with it. -Bronte (9)

Don’t be fooled by the unorthodox look of this board, they perform. When I first saw the outline, I must say I was slightly apprehensive but after my first few waves, I knew this board was a keeper. The thickness is kept in the rails so it’s stable and glides through fats section with ease but still allows you to bury the rail when needed. What I loved most is the hip in the tail. The foam up the front generates speed but combined with the comparatively narrow tail, allows you to hold in more effectively during your turns, so you can go a lot harder off the top, which has always been a downside for me when using slightly thicker, shorter step down boards. It would be remiss of me not to mention the construction. In terms of epoxy surfboards, the hayden shapes future flex epoxy is up there as one of the most durable and responsive epoxy boards on the market. Having ridden epoxy exclusively for the past 5 years or so, the only other one that’s come close in strength and flexibility is the JS hyfi. For a great small wave all rounder that you don’t have to nurse through turns, the Holy Grail is your answer.

First board I have gotten completely attached too. Works in nearly all conditions and have turned this into my everyday shortboard , Even tho I would usually ride something around 6ft . The future flex has really good pop and release. A really good fast carving board and have been surfing the shit out of it and still in perfect knick. Surfed it in some more pumping solid stuff and was epic. Love it
