Killer board, heaps of float. Given it a fair bit of a beating and still going strong.

I love this board. Great for smaller waves and really helped my progression as an early surfer with that added volume. I still use it now and find it quite manoeuvrable and a lot of fun.

I purchased my first Phantom (rounded square ) after riding AM Sampler models, board felt dependable right away, but sweet spot riding it took around 2 weeks, getting used to new rails and wide point forward. After this learning curve found I could push board as hard as I wanted and it would respond in kind, The board paddles extremely well with the wide point forward, allowing easy entry, and confidence with late takeoffs. I have to say these are the best feeling rails I’ve ever had on a board, and will hold in well over head height and more. I had fcs in my board and matched the board with John Pyzel medium FCS fins. I rode this board for 18months have re-purchased another one in 5’10 stock dims and loving it just as much. I will be ordering a 5’11 again soon in rounded pin version as a step up, also have a 6’1 ghost in the quiver. Have to give a huge thumbs up, first board was surfed hard for 18 months and still looks fresh and has held up really well, I’ve put less experienced mates onto the phantom and it’s smoothed out there surfing and has given them confidence to push harder. Gotta give @John Pyzel 2 thumbs up

Bought his model a couple of years ago and really enjoy riding it. Great in bigger surf as it’s fast and manouverable, but obviously rides well in smaller hollow stuff too.. Looking back I’d probably like to have it a bit more width for more stability and paddle power as I’m quite tall and broad. Overall the board is a beast and I’m looking at a similar shape again.

The sure thing combines the movability and speed of a performance board while giving the wave catching ability of a fun board. Holds up in surf from 2-6ft. Only downside is the quality of the stock PU glassing.

Ride with JJF techflex futures in medium. In smaller surf feels smooth and controlled but no spark to it. As soon as it is overhead with a little more push the board comes to life and really takes on its own personality. I am a massive fan, I ride the gremlin and phantom as well and between the three I am a very pleased customer. This board itself is great once it starts getting a little bigger and heavier.

Awesome board, glad I didn't go any smaller as the volume would have been a little lacking for the smaller or weaker waves but in these dimensions is great. Riding with futures blacksticks large fins, board is mint. Great control and response on the wave and rides with a bit of spark. Certainly a perfect fit between the gremlin and the ghost.

This is a board I fought against purchasing I wanted to hang onto the past so bad but at 52 it was time to buy a board that understood what I needed even if I didn't yet know it. This board eroded the aging process and brought life back into my wave count. It has a generous sweet spot and is quick off the mark due to the flatter entry rocker. ,Its widest point is a little further forward and a generous single concave under the front foot make it so easy to paddle into waves. This concave also enabled the board to retain enough rail line curve to enable you to really lay it over when turning. The rails themselves are refined and not bulky and hold in really nicely. The squash tail is not overly wide allowing you to surf tight to the pocket yet it generates enough drive and speed to push over flat spots on those less than perfect days. This board felt good from day one and has opened up possibilities rather than restricting them.

The board has lots of speed and drive. Lets you lay into some awesome turns once you stomp on the back foot. Have surfed it in 1ft beachy slop all the way to good 6ft waves. The only downside with this board is it doesnt like punchy waves, took it to Komune Bali in Keramas and the board was horrible. Ive taken many boards there over the years and this board definately doesnt like a punchy fast face. Apart from that the board has been absolutely amazing and a favourite in almost all Victorian surf spots.
