Pyzel Surfboards is the creation of Jon Pyzel, a shaper who used his wave rich surroundings of the Hawaiian the North Shore to test and shape a brand that has become one of the most revered in performance surfing. Where you have high caliber waves you'll find high caliber surfers and in this case multiple world champion, John John Florence. Pyzel and Florence have been working together since day one of John's surfing career. He's proved to be Pyzel's perfect prodigy to evolve, progress and test new designs and shapes. In recent years Pyzel Surfboards has been leading the way with designs like John John's favourite, the Pyzel Ghost which has become a heavy favourite with John and the average surfer. Pyzel has a world class team of professional surfers who dominate all conditions from small waves to those worthy of big wave records.
The Sure Thing by Pyzel Surfboards is a 'performance' style of board to give you plenty of performance combined with the fun of catching a tonne of waves. The board has plenty of forward volume combined with a double bump tail to give you plenty of control. A single concave to vee in the tail with a pair of channels between the fins gives the board plenty of projection and drive.
The Pyzel Sure Thing is great for smaller, weaker waves that maybe aren't packing much of a punch while still having the ability to step up in nicer waves.
The PyzAlien has been one of the most popular models in the range. This small wave surfboard has been designed as an all rounder, with a shorter fatter outline, low entry rocker and high tail rocker makes this fast and easy to paddle but still loose on the backfoot, to perform tight turns in the pocket of the wave.
Small wave performance surfing the PyzAlien shape can generate heaps of natural speed, floating over sections with the flat deck and full rails, perfect for the smaller days. This small wave machine is still refined enough for critical surfing in the pocket with a full concave running into a VEE through the tail. This makes the PyzAlien easier to get on rail and perform tight, explosive turns in the pocket of the wave.
The Next Step is designed for good waves to take your surfing the next level. It surfs like a high-performance shortboard but it will handle just about anything you throw at it. It has been tested and refined in some of the best and most powerful surf around the world by John John Florence and the Pyzel team riders.
High performance surfing the Pyzel Next Step is fast and offers a little extra foam to get in early and setup for the barrel. The pulled in rounded pin tail makes it great in the pocket and has good hold on the face for hollow waves. If you are going on a surf trip or just want to be prepared for good surf, the Next Step is the model for you.
The Padillac is a big wave surfboard made for paddling with a fuller outline and extra thickness. With a light vee and a double concave for quick turning and speed, this gun surfboard has a nice, crisp flowing rocker. A great choice for bigger surfers.
Perfect for riding bigger waves with confidence the Padillac is a little more board than your standard gun. Performs best as a quad fin setup, this board comes in sizes between 6'9 and 9'0. If you wish to order this model in custom dimensions please contact us before placing your order.
The Pyzel Super Grom is designed as a foundation model for grom's looking to take their surfing to the next level. This high performance model has been designed and refined with John John Florence from a young age, with volume in the right places for a smaller surfer, the Super Grom is perfect for small up and coming surfers in a range of conditions.
The Super Grom by Jon Pyzel is best for smaller surfers or groms looking to improve their high-performance surfing. With extra width under the chest and a smooth flat rocker, it goes like the wind and is easy to paddle with enough natural speed.
Somewhere between the Pyzalien and the Flash is The Amigo from Pyzel. Basically a wider shortboard or a thinner stubbie, this board has a fast, user friendly rocker that provides plenty of snap in the wave. The Amigo has a wide outline with a slight hip into a wide tail and a single concave along the bottom into a slight double through the fins.
The Pyzel Amigo is perfect for those of you who love the stubbie ride with a little extra performance. Perfect for getting a little more speed through flatter areas and giving you a snappy feeling in a lot of different types of waves.
The Astro Glider by Pyzel is a throwback to the 70's Keel Fish with a modern take. A shorter, driver with plenty of speed, this twin fin surfboard has a modern rocker and concave combined with a wider tail to generate electric speed and performance.
Pyzel's Astro Glider works brilliantly in all kinds of waves and combines smooth turning with quick speed pickup to give you a fun small wave surfboard with plenty of volume underneath you without feeling too big on the water. Ride it shorter than yourself about an inch shorter, 1 and a half wider and 1/8 thicker than your regular shortboard option. Can be ridden as a twin but recommended you ride it as a quad.
