Hey guys,

I've only got 2 boards at the moment. One is a 6'2 short board (not sure about volume) and the other is a mini Simmons 5'6 (35.5 L). I find I keep riding the mini Simmons even in bigger swell because I appreciate the extra volume under my chest and better wave count. I do find that due to the lack of rocker, in suckier swell the board loses the plot and nose dives a lot.

I'm looking for a middle man type board. Something with the added volume but can still hold in some bigger swell. Do you think I'd have a similar problem with the cherry Peppa as my mini Simmons in suckier waves? I'm thinking about the 5'10 model.

Cheers, jack

Hi Jack, the rocker on the cherry peppa model is quite low which means you may still have the issue of nose diving when the waves are suckier. I would recommend the Chilli rare bird model which will work really well for you. This board has a little more rocker than the cherry peppa but still plenty of volume, you could go with the 6'1 stock dimensions – http://www.boardcave.com.au/surf-brand/chilli-surfboards/hybrid-concept/rare-bird/
