Just wondering what board/sizes/set-up you would recommend? I am 85kg, 185cm and surf only smaller waves on the west coast of SA. I stand up most trips but not consistantly and the board i have at the moment is too small i believe. Im after something that will be easier to catch more waves.

Hello, couple of questions: A) Is there a clear advantage to use the inlayz artwork over the shapers and b) would I be able to design and supply up my own artwork for the board (7'8" D Fish). Thanks

Boardcave Australia December 7, 2015 at 4:25 am

Hi Brad. There is no advantage or disadvantage. The inlays are printed on fabric material that is placed on the foam and glassed over. The shaper artwork is colour that is sprayed on the foam and glassed over. Both these artwork options do not effect the performance of the board. Please send through your artwork image to service@boardcave.com and the guys will get back to you to let you know if this design will be possible and a quote.

Thank for that. I will get back to in due course, working on the design.

Hi what weight limit will the 8' / 53.9L board handle? I am begginer and have longboard already but looking at a more traditional board to move onto.

Michelle Kohler July 16, 2016 at 2:35 am

Hi I am a novice 47 year old, 67kg and 163cm tall. Wanting to come off the longboard and really like the D Fish. Just starting to get into the green waves and thought this might be the next board for me. What size board do you recommend?

Boardcave Australia July 18, 2016 at 12:44 am

Hi Damian, The 8 ft dimensions in the d fish model will hold surfers up to around the 100 kg mark. This model is great for guys looking to step down from a longboard. If you need size recommendations please email service@boardcave.com with your height, weight, age and surfing ability as well as the board you've mostly been surfing at the moment.

Boardcave Australia July 18, 2016 at 12:48 am

Hi Michelle, going off the info provided above I would recommend the 6'6 dimensions. You could go a little longer if you think this may be a little too short for you. This will have plenty of volume for easy paddling but will be shorter than your long board to allow for manouverability and be less prone to nose diving.

Thank you so much for your advice. This has definitely helped. Looking forward to ordering the CW board shortly

Love the board it's everything I hoped it would be. Great fun and easy to ride. A good mate has ridden it and now wants one as well.
