Hi guys, firstly your website is excellent. I am currently looking for an all rounder that will go well in small beach breaks to well over head days on the Gold Coast. I am a 34 year old who started surfing fairly late in life but am intermediate. I surf a couple of times a week. I really want a board that I can get dialled in on, on smaller days so that when it picks up or I head overseas I don't have to switch boards. At the moment I am trying to decide between the Lost V3 rocket, the hypto krypto and the DHD black diamond. I would be really interested in your advice on these or any other board you may recommend. Cheers, Geoff.

Hi Geoff, I would highly recommend the black diamond or the hypto. Both these models paddle really well and have more foam under your chest for easy paddling and getting into wave a little earlier but the pin tail enables the board to hold really nicely in the barrel and when conditions get a little bigger. The black diamond has a little more tail rocker and is a little more refined so it will offer a little more performance, both boards are nice and fast down the line. I would recommend going with the black diamond.

Want a board that turns tight arc, goes vertical and really performs in great waves, yet still could be my go to board. Around 6' long (34L) and i love a tail kick. Some should go for DHD sweet spot or black diamond or Gary McNeil entity? What do you recommend for that magic board?

Hi Paul, the black diamond is a fantastic all round board. It can be surfed in waves waist height – well overhead. The black diamond has a good amount of tail rocker for every day conditions to fit you nicely in the pocket and also allow for manouverability when surfing the wave top to bottom. I would recommend the black diamond for that 1 board quiver!

My Black Diamond goes great in all kinds of condiitons. Easy to paddle and gets into waves early. I've taken it out in some solid 4-6ft beach breaks and it really comes to life. I especially like riding it as a quad for the steeper/more hollow stuff. The added volume gets it across flat and mushy sections easily as well. Definately recommend it as an all rounder or for someone who wants more of a short board type outline

Super fast and really manoeuvrable. As a 50+ year old surfer, this is a great shorter board for me.
