DMS Surfboards is the vision and creation of New Zealand born Dan Macdonald. Dan's vision has always been to create premium hand crafted surfboards using quality materials, superior craftsmanship and innovative design. Today DMS have many well known surfboard models like the DMS Fat Cat, DMS Crumpet and the DMS Actor. Dan's endless thirst for knowledge and experimentation has led him to travel widely and study at the feet of master surfboard builders throughout the world. Daniel has refined that knowledge and applied it to the DM Shapes collection, an impressive and varied array of surf craft designed for all surfers and surfing conditions. From his fine-tuned high performance short boards like the popular DMS Crown or the DMS Panther. All these high performance models along with any board in the collection can be ordered in the DMS patented carbon wrap technology. DM Shapes also have a fine selection of all round performers like the DMS Fly and the DMS Wave Warrior.

DMS Surfboards are well known for their one of a kind artwork from striking hand-pigmented free lap tints to polaroid inlayz and many other artwork selections that allow surfers to order true customs, unique to their individual style. The DMS longboards and hybrid fish surfboards include the popular DMS Stilnox, DMS Valium and the DMS Thumb. The DMS Charger is a retro inspired fish and also another fast small wave model. DMS also have performance single fin designs like the DMS Zephyr.

Hey I'm want to order a wave warrior, I'm currently riding a 5'11×18 1/4x 2 3/16. I'm looking for a high performance round tail. I'm 70kg and paddle fit, wot sort of dimensions would you recommend ?

Boardcave Australia March 31, 2015 at 1:03 am

Hi Connor Smith. I would recommend either the
5'8 x 18 3/4 x 2 1/4 – 23.87 litres or the
5'10 x 19 x 2 5'16 – 25.98 litres
Do you know the literage in the board you're currently surfing? This will help me recommend the best size wave warrior for you!

The board felt good when paddling and stable under foot when getting to your feet, on the wave it moved easily and went where you wanted it to go. A great step up board to really get the most out of the wave for the average surfer.

The DMS fat cat with a carbon wrap has been amazing, performing in all conditions. Its been to the Gold Coast, Perth and Bali several times, love it!!!

This was my first epoxy with the carbon wrap. It's very playful and responsive and the extra volume of the Fat Cat makes this board plane over sections. I found it just goes, I have more time to pick my lines rather than focusing on generating speed. It goes well in most conditions, would recommend it as an all rounder.

I got my Fat Cat in the carbon wrap and so far it has been great. The first thing I noticed was how well made and light it was. I've surfed it in 2-4ft beach and reef breaks. It is easy to ride and feels good under foot. Also easy to turn and get on rail. I think this will go really well when it gets overhead and clean. Very happy.

Top board, very fast and fun! Goes great especially backside. Fun all round board love it!

Benjamin - / 33Yrs / 181 cm / 82kg / 4 - Intermediate / Advanced Valium 5' 2" x 20 1/4" x 2 1/2" x 34.25L
Best simmons I have ever ridden. Super fun in 2- 4 ft but handles a well groomed 4 to 6 ft no problem. Probably even funner when it's overhead because the rails and keels hold so well through turns you want more face to work with!

Only surfed the carny in poor weak point break so far but excels in all areas! Fast and light and handles those slow sections really well, love it!!
