hi – does board work with twin fin (like futures AMT) or only keels?

Boardcave Australia June 29, 2015 at 2:13 am

Hi Derek. We recommend riding this board with keel fins to get the best performance from this model. We have the rasta keels in stock at the moment which you can check out via the link below:
http://www.boardcave.com.au/surf-brand/future-fins/product/rasta-keel-sea-shepherd-twin-fin/ – these fins are highly recommended with this model!

Hi im 6'0 and 78-80 kg, i surf a lot, what size should I go?

Boardcave Australia September 14, 2015 at 3:48 pm

Hey Bruce, I would either go with something like the 5'10 since you surf a lot…with a touch more volume than what your standard shorty would be. Or go the 6'0 to make paddling even easier.

Hi, I'm from Germany and thought about buying this board. Is Delivery to Germany even possible? Thanks

Boardcave Australia November 9, 2015 at 5:24 pm

Hi Jelto, Shipping is possible and we have done so in the past, but in those cases the customer organized the shipping and sent the company to pick up the when it was complete. Please feel free to email todd@boardcave.com to enquire more.

Hi im about 6'3 and weigh around 80 Kg, what size should i get this board in. Also if i buy this board without the carbon rails will i still get the spray/artwork that it shows in the picture!

Boardcave Australia March 4, 2016 at 1:35 am

Hi Oliver, please email service@boardcave.com with your height, weight, age and surfing ability and the guys will recommend the best size for you.

The rasta torus twin model comes with your choice of either small artwork or carbon insert on the bottom of the board only. You will get the carbon or artwork option regardless of whether you order the carbon rails or standard PU construction. You can let us know which you prefer in the comments section on the checkout page.

Oliver Haase March 4, 2016 at 8:32 am

Hi, does that mean if i get the purple weaver pattern it wont cost $100?

Boardcave Australia March 7, 2016 at 12:34 am

Hi Oliver, ALL artwork listed at step 5 are extras and DO NOT come included with the board. The prices can be seen below each artwork image.

The artwork included with the RTT model is a small standard black and white piece that is on the bottom of the board only. If you email todd@boardcave.com.au he can show you an example of the artwork image that is included in the price of the RTT model.

Hi, I love the look of these boards, just wondering though with the channel, does it cause any problems when surfing in sloppy conditions like traditional channel bottom boards would?? Cheers

Boardcave Australia April 4, 2016 at 10:23 pm

Hi Jarrid, This model loves clean waves and the channel will be most effective when the waves are cleaner. You can still surf this board in sloppy / junky conditions though.

Jason Scott April 12, 2016 at 9:43 am

Does board come with fins

Boardcave Australia April 13, 2016 at 3:06 am

Hi Scott, the board does not include fins but you can choose from the glass on fin option at step 4 if you like.

We have $20 off fins with all board orders, just enter fins20 in the voucher ID section on the checkout page when adding your board and a set of fins to your cart.

I recommend the rasta keels with this model. Check them out here ~ http://www.boardcave.com.au/surf-brand/future-fins/product/rasta-keel-sea-shepherd-twin-fin/

Hi i am 5'11" and weigh 90kg but i am very fit and paddle strong. Been surfing MR twins my whole life but wanna try a 5'8" rasta twin with out going too wide . 35 litres should he enoughvto float me. Advice please as i dobt want some fat sorta board . I want responsive tight quick turns

Mark Noel May 22, 2016 at 9:47 am

Hi there, Im comparing the Rasta torus and the cv2 in 6.0 the cv2 sounds a little more performance based but has more volume than the torus which is more traditional and fuller in outline. I'mm just a bit confused by this. Not sure which is best for me. Looking for a go to board 2ft to head high and surfs some softer waves also which would you recommend? Cheers

Dan Slads May 29, 2016 at 8:05 am

Hi, I'm looking at purchasing one of your boards. I'd like a 5'4 but I want the volume to be around 34 litres. Can you recommend specifics of board?

Boardcave Australia May 31, 2016 at 1:23 am

Hi Dan, go with the 5'4 x 21 1/2 x 2 3/4 which will bring it to roughly 34 litres in the RTT model.

Boardcave Australia June 1, 2016 at 3:03 am

Hi Mark, both boards are going to be great in that small – medium wave range but if you're after something that's going to hold a little better when the waves get a little bigger I would go wth the CV2.

Boardcave Australia June 1, 2016 at 3:55 am

Hi Paul, you could beef up the thickness of the RTT to bring it up to 35 litres. If you're after a quick responsive board I would suggest the entity model. If you want to go with the RTT I would recommend 5'8 x 20 3/4 x 2 3/4 which would be roughly 35 litres.

Laura Leydon July 19, 2016 at 6:27 pm

Hey, was looking to check on the (approx) volume of a couple of these RTT's. 5'9 x 20 x 2 3/8 and 6'0 x 20 x 2 3/8 – Thanks in advance!

Boardcave Australia July 19, 2016 at 11:41 pm

Hi Laura, See below:
6'0 x 20 x 2 3/8 = 30.12 and 5'9 x 20 x 2 3/8 = 28.77

Incredible board! Now surfed in different type of waves and it works well on fat to hollow waves. I tried 4 different fins on the RTT and mainly surf it with the Akila Aipa as it drives like mad and gives it a nice loose feeling. For bigger steeper days when take offs are going to be challenging, I surf it with the Rasta twins as it is still fast but provides added hold on the drop! The wide surface area of the board gives it a very forgiving and comfort feeling while riding the waves. Natural speed flows into long nice carves or loose fins out depending on the fins you use. I surfed the RTT on small to 4ft reef breaks and fat to hollow. I found it most fun on fat onshore days.

For a little fish this board is amazing, it handles the juice, it also feels short, I think I could have easily gone a 6'0 as flying down the line would not be impacted by an extra couple of inches. Gary's boards are very refined so don't hesitate to get some extra thickness, he will hide it and performance will not be impacted. Will be tring this board some twin fin fins also, hold is amazing with the Rasta keels.

The RTT goes really sick. It floats a lot better than it seems based on the streamlined dimensions. Personally I was worried it wouldn't ride enough like a fish, but so far it has felt really solid, effortless speed, clean arching manoeuvrability. I'm using the (Futures) Sea Shepard keels and they are super good, great momentum with great control on small to medium sized waves. I was surprised how responsive it was, very controlled and simple to surf, it feels lively and cooperative.

Great board, really happy - dudes look at it in the car park all the time. Good measurements for me and my wife wants one.

The twin fin goes really well in 2 foot plus and okay in 1-2. Likes a clean face to put down clean rail to rail turns, also has really good drive off the bottom and controlled release when wanted.

Wasn't too sure about the board at first as I haven’t had much experience on a twin fin but persevered with it and quickly learned to enjoy it. Now it’s pretty much the most ridden board in my quiver.

The RTT is a speed machine! You know you’ve got a great board when everything just feels right. As soon as I picked it up, I knew the board was going to be good. Same in the water, as soon as I paddled on it, the board was balanced and just seemed to glide. Super easy to paddle into waves and really fun to surf...I couldn’t be more happy with my Gary McNeill RTT
