Puddle Jumper

G'day Matt, have recently purchased a 6'2" V3 Rocket and a 6'0" RV and completely stoked with both ! Am thinking of retiring my 6'6" Channel bottom step up and am looking at both your 6'6" Mini Driver or 6'6" / 6'8" Rock up to replace the old girl.

Doing 2nd msg as 1st stopped type. Wondering if the Mini is up to max 6-8' Indo, no bigger thanks ! Or am I better off going straight to Rock up ?

Hi Adam Sadler. The rock up model is better suited for those bigger days in Indo around 6-8ft as it has a more refined outline and added tail rocker. On smaller days around 2-5 ft the mini driver will help you get into waves early and hold really nicely in the barrel.

The Rock up it is then ! Thanks for fast feedback.

Hi. I'm an intermediate surfer and looking for a board I can take out in nearly every conditions, I was thinking a wider outline abit more volume. I eventually want to progress down to a hp shortboard. What do you suggest I'm 5'4 54kg

Hi Justin, I would recommend going with the 5'4 dimensions with 28.1 litres in the puddle jumper model. This is a great board for a wide range of conditions from 1-3 ft. It's going to be easy to paddle and give you stability even though you ride this board a fair bit shorter than what you would ride your standard shortboard model.

Hi Chris, I would highly recommend the FCS II carver neo glass tri quad set for this board. You can check them out here – http://www.boardcave.com.au/surf-brand/fcs-surfboard-fins/product/fcs-ii-carver-neo-glass-tri-quad-set-large/

Hi im looking at a board i can ride as a quad in beachies then a twin in fat waves, would this board suit also what would ride better as a twin this board or the puddlejumper round tail

Hi Adi, I would go for the puddle jumper RP, this model is going to surf better as a twin and is more of an all rounder. The board above (puddle jumper) is more of a grovel board but the puddle jumper RP will hold up better in bigger waves.

Good very small wave board. Drives down the line well, even on mush. Seems to prefer a flatter face to barrelling waves. Turns well. Wide tail, works well as a quad (extra speed), but benefits from the nubster to stop the tail drifting too much.

The puddle jumper has performed better than expected in all areas. I'am very excited about riding it on up coming trip to indo.

Board felt great right from the start. Goes just as they say it will, very easy to surf and seems to generate its own speed. I went for a couple of Litres higher volume than my normal board short board and it suits perfectly.

Great surfboard for those smaller days, it feels very lively and manoeuvrable, although I was surprised to find out it is not a groveler really, it paddles well but not great, it might be due to the addition of more rocker. You can't have it all! Great board overall.
