Ready to get one for summer, I'm thinking to get a 5.5 19 1/4 2 1/4, can you tell me how much volume difference from a 5.6 (26.81 L)?
Cheers
Pietro

Hi Pietro Zanaboni. Apologies for the delayed response. It is hard to say exactly how much volume a V3 Rocket with custom dimensions is going to have as volume is calculated using CAD programs at the Lost factory. A V3 rocket – 5'5 x 19 x 2 1/4 would come in at around 25.5 – 26 litres approximately.

Hi Brett.
I would recommend the Matt Biolos tri quad (5 fin set) in a size large if you're looking for a thruster set as well as the quad option in one pack. These are a great all round fin and will work really well with the v3 rocket! Check them out via the link below:

If you're looking for a thruster set I would recommend the performers in a size large which you can check out here – http://www.boardcave.com.au/surf-brand/fcs-surfboard-fins/product/fcs-ii-performer-pc-carbon-large-blue-fin-thruster/

I weigh 178lbs. I'm 5'8. I seem to be a little lazy these days at 43, especially when wearing a 4/3 fullsuit in winter. I live in Florida and surf pretty crappy waves. I used to have the 5'8 original rocket and loved it in good waves, but it didn't paddle well for me. What size v3 would you recommend?

Hi Brian, based off that info I would recommend the 5'11 standard dims in the V3 rocket to ensure you have enough paddle power and aren't missing out on waves.

Hi Arnaud, I would suggest something like the quiver killer which is a great all round shape, good in smaller waves but also holds in the bigger stuff. Riding as a quad will also increase your drive off the bottom. I would suggest the 5'8 or 5'9 stock dimensions in this model.

You can check out there quiver killer here – http://www.boardcave.com.au/surf-brand/lost-surfboards-mayhem/shortboard-performance/quiver-killer/

Hi there
I am 6'3 86jgs and 37 yrs old
I surf approx once a fortnight and would classify myself as intermediate – confidently getting up, simple carves along the face on both my forehand and backhand – nothing too radical!
I am looking for a board that will give me lots of enjoyment eg reasonably fast, good paddle power etc but also one that will hopefully help progress my surfing. Based on reviews I am quite interested in this board and was wondering what size / volume you'd recommend? Also are there any other boards you'd recommend me checking out?
Thanks
Gus

Hi Angus, the V3 rocket is a great all round option with it's wider outline offering a good amount of paddle power and stability. A generous amount of foam through the board also helps with this. Based on the info provided I would recommend the 6'1 x 20 3/8 x 2 11/16 – 36.2 litres in the V3 rocket.

Best small wave board I've owned yet.

Best board I've ridden, great in the tube and on smaller fat waves as a quad. Once it gets over head I would ride as thruster. It's supper fast with heaps of volume which makes it very forgiving!

This board flies down the line set up as a quad on chest high and a little above waves, i've not had to many chances to use it in above head high as a thruster but love having the option to switch it up when I want to with the FCS 2 plugs. It's a great summer board in Sydney so far!

I have ridden this board exclusively for 3 months trying to get my head around what it is doing and to be honest can't figure it out! Being a new board and shape to the Aust market I read allot of reviews that raved how good it is etc; I beg to differ I find the board lacks manoeuvrability and feel under foot. I have tried multiple fin combinations to try and get it to agree with my style of surfing but nothing has worked. I think allot can be said for home grown talent and shapers. The American Market is allot different to the Aust hence the boards are accordingly. I ordered the board with strong glassing and the deck hasn't got a flat spot on it. I am currently trying to sell the board as it doesn't work! Well for me anyway. Give me a DMS any day!!!

this board carries speed over flat sections and paddles well above its weight. More responsive than my dumpster of the same size

Performs amazing. I'm used to riding standard thrusters but the shorter/wider model is incredible. Really fast in smaller stuff and real manoeuvrable in bigger surf. I'm verging on a one board quiver. I bought the 5'8" which is perfect for me. Although I'm probably still a bit heavy to duck dive it as well as I would like to.

I am very happy with this board. Seems to perform well in conditions 2-5ft both clean and messy. I love it.

Board is great! Cassic 5 fin setup. Ride as thruster below 4ft for pivot and as quad 4ft & above for more hold. FCS2 fin setup makes swapping easy. Its actually EPS carbon and handles chop/wind better than my old Webber SLX.

Sick board in knee to shoulder high waves as a quad. Heaps of paddle power extra volume doesnt make the board clunky tho. Cant wait to get it into some decent waves!
