Diamond Dancer

Manufactured in Australia
Manufacturing Time:
~ 4 Weeks
The Purpose:

The 2016 Diamond Dancer is part of the Modern Cloud Control board release from Misfit Shapes. With a feeder channel moving through the bottom of the board combined with outside channels gives the board plenty of flow and speed down the line. The parallel rails offer more foam through the board offering more plane and float. If you like speed and control for progressive surfing the Diamond Dancer is a great selection.

Note: Includes PU with acrylic spray – white deck stringer band/ black bottom ‘MAD MINDS’ characters

Rocker:

The rocker is a flat continuous curve for speed but it also enables ease in paddling, with slight lift in the nose to allow for in-the-pocket positioning.

Rail:

Rails are a forgiving medium profile with a slight continuous edge underneath, which gives the board hold, yet incredible directional control and sensitivity.

Concave:

The Diamond Dancer uses our unique “feeder” channel, running from the nose (minimal) to tail (more pronounced) to project water through the bottom of the board at high velocity. Additionally, there is a slight concave either side of the feeder, which combined gives the board incredible lift and a sensation of floating on top of the water.

Hi Carl, If you're an intermediate surfer the 5'8 would probably be a better option for you but if you do like you're boards with a lot of exrta volume for paddle power and to catch waves easily the 5'10 will be fine and will still turn well.

The diamond dancer had a whole lot of speed straight away as well as a really skatey kind of feel which was a little weird at first. After a few waves however, I was really enjoying myself. I first rode it as a thruster at a shallow reef break in fun 4ft(ish) and straight from the take off the speed the board had would just shoot you off down the line which made it really easy to make/get around faster sections and allow for big turns straight off the bat. I felt a good amount of drive through bottom turns and found the board more than capable of getting up to and letting loose in the lip. Paddles really well, super fast, manoeuvrable, bit of a quiver killer once you get used to the skatey feel that comes with the wide deck in a shorter board.
