A great all rounder. Paddled really well into smaller waves. Fairly forgiving & easy to throw around. Felt like it would handle some decent size also (if my own ability was up to it!).

Super fun board in almost any surf! I use this board in 1-2ft messy surf and almost never struggle to catch waves. Easy to maintain speed when the waves are sloppy and turns super easy with pretty good stability. This is my go to summer wave board however it does ding pretty easy and had a few pressure dings on it after my first few surfs.

Can’t say enough good things about this board. Any conditions any time. It is on song. Unbelievable performance and perfectly balanced to get me into any wave I choose. Never a dull day on this board. An essential part of my quiver.

Good board. Paddles great. Fast board. Came with a deep single concave all the way through to a very slight double under the fins. Gets a bit loose above head high. Only let down is the glassing. Seems to ding pretty easily in places.

Loved this board. Went well in most conditions from 1ft slop to hollow overhead. Rode with with FCS Performer quad set up.

My idea behind getting a rare bird was to have something smaller then your high performance shortboard that can handle a step drop into a 2-5ft reef break or beachie that would enable me to get tubed whilst still having the option of using the board in below par waves. The rare bird is super fast which enables you to make it down the line past the close out section and I found it excelled on point breaks and solid reef breaks using a quad setup. Surfing a good solid 3-5ft beachie in southern WA I found that the rare bird, provided that I made the steep drop, enabled me to get barrelled a lot easier then my Pyzel Bastard.
