As an old bloke getting back into riding performance boards I was pleasantly surprised by the ease in which the Sweet Spot picked up waves.
I was expecting a hard paddle to catch waves but the 6' 6" just glided into them. Once the rails dug in it was very easy to manoeuvre and set up for the next turn.
I was also worried about having the extra volume under my chest but I hardly noticed it.
The plan was to use the Sweet Spot as my step up board for a trip to Indo but that is on hold now. Just have to keep practicing on West coast of Victoria waves.

Much smaller than I’d normally ride (I’m 90kg and 6 foot tall) but has the volume of my 6’5 step up. My 5’9 Cymatic paddles into double overhead waves easily. Definitely use as a quad for larger waves and thruster for anything up to head high. Extremely fast as a quad to beat large sections if needed. Still very loose if you push it in turns. It can slide easily as a quad but still controlled. In smaller waves as a thruster, it is still fast and skateboard loose when right on the tail. It will go anywhere you point it. It prefers wallier waves over fat waves. Significant rocker slows the board a little through fat sections.
Order with volume rather than size. Even go a size smaller to maximise rails biting as it has reasonably thick rails which you want to bite into the wave rather than bounce out and ride flat through turns. Takes a little time to get used to but when it clicks! Wow! Very fun once you work it out. I also have a 5’9 Omni for when the waves are not as wally.
Incredible designs which are small under foot but funner than anything I’ve ridden.
Happy ripping

It's a fast little thing, absolutely flies down the line to beat sections. I ride it as a thruster to get a bit more control but it's designed as a quad.
Feels good when the feet are placed a little forward. I'm getting a good amount of torque when twisting into oncoming lips.
I've smashed it into my shin a couple times, and had to get the rail repaired once already.
It feels like a sleek race car but I could possible have gone bigger and wider for a bit more stability and paddle power.
The outline is sexy as, and I love riding it.

Bought this cause put on a bit o weight during Covid, surfed it 3ft choppy at Arrawarra Nsw north coast and the board was sooo sick, fast, responsive and way too easy to turn. Then surf perfect 4ft barrels at mid point plomer a week later and the board was kinda skatey... I surf large fins so shouldn’t be a prob but I think this is more suited to a summer shredder than a winter warrior

Upgraded my QuiverKiller 6'4" which is another quality board and found the sweet spot immediately. Lost make such reliable, high quality finish boards. The epoxy and cork treatment had me a bit worried BUT its as smooth and lively as anything. Much more durable. Ill be keeping this one for a long time. Paddles great and duckdives well (important for old blokes).
Overhead Yorkes no worries, mushy 2 foot slop still fun, the extra 2 inches really makes the board accelerate down the line and the round tail turns smooth. A cracker!

Bought to use for small summer days and to have fun on a retro single. Have found the board to be so much more versatile than that though, and have enjoyed taking it out in larger overhead days to take advantage of its paddle power and get into waves earlier. Have had afor a couple years and has held up really nicely. Would recommend to anyone looking to transition to a single fin but not looking to convert to a fully retro board (similar feel to your conventional shortboard).

I LOVE THIS BOARD. I am almost 40, female, on the chunky side of life, surf small waves (1-4ft) on weekends when I can, and this is the best board I have had for a long while.
I previously surfed a Ghetto cat and local shapers, but this is an awesome paddle machine, flies with the quad set up (accelerators) and able to still move it up and down the wave with ease. Thruster system is awesome too.
I was worried it had too much volume as I went 3Lt bigger than my usual fun board but its super easy to duckdive, can still hold its rail and on the full moon I can still get a snap in.
If you have lost some of your fitness to other things in life, then this board gets you into waves super easy and makes you feel like you're not ready for christmas shopping in the mal section.

I bought this board with the idea of getting better on a more performance orientated board. Right from the get go I feel that I have been surfing better. I joke with my mates that it must be the board but maybe there is some truth to the humor. There has even been some take offs I think the board actually saved me so I could keep riding the wave. I love it. Would definitely recommend this board and buy another one.
