Super good board in bigger surf. Once the waves have the push this thing holds like nothing else. Turns well enough in the right conditions max, plenty of paddle power and holds in really well in hollow sections. Also has seemed to take most a good beating and holding together well after a few sessions in solid surf.

Rode this board for about a year and half first as a thruster then a quad. The board is reasonable paddling and is fairly responsive once up to speed. It felt really really slow for anything under 4ft and it felt like it was constantly catching and getting caught up. It works best in steeper waves with a bit of face on them. Anything in the 3-6ft range and the board goes okay if you can work it out. I rode it for a year and a half and couldn't work it out. Goes a little bit better as a quad (large front fins and medium rear) but found it sliding out in turns and harder bottom turns. Another issue I found is that I was CONSTANTLY dinging the board, I hardly went a surf without ending up with a ding that required professional repair. Probably had the nose repaired 10 + times and ripped the leggie through the tail twice. Got compressions super easily too. Might go alright with thicker glassing. Buy a MisFit instead of thing and save a couple hundred dollars and whole lot of headache.

So my initial thoughts were “this doesn’t feel similar to other high performance boards”. The reason being is how flat the deck is. It really felt different to me. Other things that stood out were a fairly serious amount of concave on the last foot or so of the nose. When I went surfing this definitely made sense straight away. I felt really planted on the board due to the flat deck. It helped my balance actually. I went on the lower side of my volume range but it felt really solid. Paddled into waves easily as well! I was after a higher performance version of the phantom and that’s exactly what I got. I really do love this board! It pivots well but can still hold a rail in big surf. Im stoked and highly recommend this board. If your looking at one I’d say it definitely isn’t a bad option what so ever :)

Purchased this board to get back into surfing again after a few years off and a few kgs heavier. Wanted a bit of a one board quiver and so far has been great. Surfed mostly in 1-3ft surf, paddles into waves easily and holds surprisingly well in waves with a bit more punch. Has been ideal for what I wanted and 2 years later is still in excellent condition.

This board is the magic carpet you want to ride. I was worried about the step down but it feel so solid under my feet. The drive is off the charts and does everything and more it says on the box. This board is super fast!! Dont think I've ever been faster on a board. Just had an epic weekend of waves here, and took this out in some solid 4-6ft peaky beach break waves, and the board still held really well. Was plesantly surprised what I could throw it at, and it handled everything. It paddles really well, great foam distribution. Went for 1Lt more than my shortboard and it feels spot on. I ride it with FCS2 modern keel fins and they seem to feel perfect for the board. I would definitely recommend this board to add to the quiver. Super fun, fast and loose. Get it!

Ive had 2 3DXs. Sadly i snapped my first one but i loved it so i bought another one. I had time to ride my Hypto (repaired because i also snapped that) while waiting for the new 3DX to be delivered and i was really starting worry that id be more Hypto than 3DX - until the 3DX arrived!! I got some solid waves down south this week and i have to say while it does pass as a groveller - it really lifts when the waves are good. This board brought all the stoke back for me - im surfing more and getting more out of each surf.

The Board is a tank to start off! most durable construction i've seen in a surfboard. One time my leave broke and the next waves of the set sent the hypto sailing into the rocky shore to be battered for about 10 to 15 minutes while I swam to get it. I was shocked to find it not only in one piece but only scratched! The rails and nose had plenty of small scratches but nothing passed the epoxy into the foam! Beyond durability the board has been a great all rounder and definitely my go to for almost all conditions the last couple years. Paddles like a funboard but rides super responsive and carvey. I wouldn't say this is designed for high performance airs, it's designed for fun! For making fast and wild lines on nearly any size wave. More than anything its fun simply because you will catch more waves.
