Monsta Box Squash Tail HYFI surfboard reviews

Love this Board. Is my daily driver and works in pretty much everything under 5ft. Great paddler, makes getitng into waves easy in crowded line up. Supper stable at take off but has great drive down the line, holds off the bottom and can get the tail releasing off the top. Perfect for most of the waves we get most of the time in Sydney and HiFi construction makes it feel more lively on those smaller days. Only limitaiton is whaen the waves have a bit more push or there is a lot of chatter on the face, find it hard to get the rail to grab in those siutaions but I have other boards for that. Overall a great board for most surfers which is why they are so popular I guess.

This is my 2nd hyfi monstabox, I first purchased a 6’1 which was awesome, but now ima little older ( but still have manoeuvres left in me) I opted for a little extra volume in the 6’4. I have to say, I have 8 boards in my quiver and this is my new “go to”. The monstabox just does everything right, paddle power in the hyfi, manoeuvrability plus, feels so good under your feet and under your arm. Love this board so much, even with the extra float, it’s so easy to confidently dig the rail in on a bottom turn with confidence that your not going to skip out with the speed. You don’t have to second guess how it will handle, it just does

Excellent daily driver. Good for 1 to 5ft. Had for 3 Years and is standing up well to week;y use. I would definitely buy again.

I first rode the blakbox2 in hyfi and loved it, but thought it was a smidge wide. But when the waves are small or even big and fat, the blakbox is my go to. But when the waves turn on, the monsta box has that little bit more performance without losing all of the great qualities I found in the blakbox hyfi. This board In hyfi is so light and the paddle power is amazing, especially for an old dude with manoeuvres still left in him:) Love this board.

My favourite daily driver, specially when the waves are a bit better. Plenty of foam for decent paddle power, while keeping the beautiful curvy performance outline. Love the quality of the HYFI on this board, very durable and helps when conditions are poor (even though this is not my absolute favorite board for those conditions). Would get it again, maybe in PU to sink the rail a bit better in good powerful waves.
