This board is versatile it works really well in various fin configurations, favorite is 2+1 in smaller to mid range surf ..thruster in overhead . It works from really well in anything from 2 ft to 8 ft The board has plenty of speed ,This board has the rocker to surf bigger waves and not so rocker much that it also goes well in smaller surf . transitions from rail to rail are smooth . This is my favorite daily driver to date .

Great board!! The epoxy is a little floaty and gets a bit chattery in wind chop. I swapped from thruster to quad which makes it feel more planted and gives that extra bit of speed in both waist high shoreys and head high fatter slower waves - which is all we’ve had on Sunshine Coast for most of summer. Still working on backhand with the quad - takes a bit more effort to get it on rail.

I absolutely love this board! I mainly surf smaller waves and this board paddles on to anything. It feels really stable under my feet and manoeuvres so easy. This was my first short board and my surfing has progressed so much because of this board. From being an advanced beginner when I purchased this board I’m now at (early) intermediate level. This board really has been as good as I hoped it to be. I’m currently riding it as a quad which is super fun.

Excellent paddler, great drive and speed, holds a high critical line thru hollow sections , and bottom turns are solid and reliable.. It a a big board that can be surfed with a short board style in solid waves. I haven’t used it in smaller weak waves . But I think it could still be fun . I’ve now bought three Padillacs , a 6’10, 7’4”, and 8’0”

Great semi step up. I don't surf huge waves but it get's powerful in WA. Anything chest to double overhead it gets you in early and feels gunny. it almost surfs more like a snowboard in that you surf it off the rails more and it just turns for you then you jam your foot on the tail at the end of your turn so it takes some getting used to. Great board, you just have to think more about where your putting your weight else you kook it a bit more...

Tried this as a demo not long after it was released fas the “Stab in the Dark” winner with Dane Reynolds. First surf was in average beach break waves. Had JJF futures fins in but remember getting out thinking it wasn’t the best board, felt slow and sluggish and struggled to get it going. Turned well in more upright waves and held its tail well however. Not to be defeated I tried a different set of fins Dane Reynolds Captain Fin co in similar conditions later that day and it was a totally different board (maybe the fins? Maybe me?) plenty of speed off the mark and wherever I wanted the board to go it would. Held rail through turns released off the top nicely. The next few surfs on it were exactly the same. A great board in bothe beach real and point waves

Such a good board! Carries speed like no other and works so well in the pocket, so nice on rail on a good open face, holds perfectly. 10/10 would recommend.
