Felt smaller than 5”9 when I was getting used to this board as I Kept stepping off the back of it but adjusted stance narrower and it was quick off the mark. No flex in it especially with the beak nose and it carved rather well despite my head thinking it was more for wafting (fish like but not). I Always get JRs with futures and the JJFs felt great but might contribute to the lack of drift in the tail. Found it to be a great board for windy on shore surf as it was easy to slot under your feet and get on with it. Had it for over 12 months and it still holds up- these guys always use good quality blanks and the glassing has never let me down around key areas such as fin boxes (owned 3 previous JRs) and would go again

Solid rails and felt boaty at first. Ended up loving it though once I wore it in. First board that I’ve ever felt the flat spot properly under the front foot and it’s impacts. Wanted to spin after floaters when landing which made it fun. Backhand felt sharp off the top and could pivot easily in small stuff. Could feel flex in the nose (up) which eventually led to a snap but no fault implied besides hard use. Would buy another just not do black again

Extremely nice board. Rides very nice and quick through the turns with high stability. The extra litres through the chest area aids in a fast paddling speed and easy pop-up ability. Strong quality of glassing although some cracks on the rails after a few uses.

Got into surfing quite later on in life and wanted to find a board to move down into a short board. This was the second short board that I purchased after a longboard and I absolutely love it. It supports my upper body when paddling, with a lot of foam in that area which allows me to paddle into waves quite well. Once I get onto the wave it is very reactive. I feel like it is really progressing my surfing. Board is super light and so far very durable. So far loving this board for my skill level

This board is quicker than a 5 legged dog! I surfed this amazing board a while ago on a trip to Fiji. I've never had the same memorable feeling on another board again. The modern twin fin system creates a looseness, gliding over the water like a dill pickle slipping out of a roll! The turns are smooth and drawn back and the board sits on the water nicely providing for an easy paddle. I love the feeling of it and the dynamic shape. I'd happily trade in my sister for this stick!

The Black Diamond is an excellent all-rounder. It has the right area and volume under the chest but not much in the tail, making it great to manoeuvre. It paddles exceptionally well and is fast off the front foot.
This board is easy to ride, gets you lots of speed. It is my second Black Diamond, the first one being a 6'0 PU. The eps version is a bit faster, has more manoeuvrability, but need cleaner conditions to perform at it's best.
I haven't found a better all-rounder board, that my 70% of the time go-to board.

This board is easy to ride, gets you lots of speed. It's a take-everwhere board. I had the chance to get my board directly shaped by Darren himself, so it makes that board even extra special for me.
I love this board so much that I bought a second one in epoxy this time.

A great all rounder. Paddled really well into smaller waves. Fairly forgiving & easy to throw around. Felt like it would handle some decent size also (if my own ability was up to it!).
