Gary McNeill

Rasta Torus Twin

4.2

Product rating: 4.2 out of 5 with 9 ratings

The Rasta Torus Twin was first designed in 2009 by Gary McNeill and pro surfer Dave Rastovich. It features a full length "Torus" channel sitting inside a single concave which provides hold in hollow sections and helps you generate speed when pumping with your front foot. Because of this channel, the RTT has more control than your traditional twin fin and due to the absence of drag from the centre fin can generate speed quicker than your thruster.

If you prefer the controlled feel of a 3 fin surfboard then check out the Rasta Torus Drive, also worth noting is Daves new favourite twinny, the Mini Pip. Both boards feature the same Torus channel.

Please note:
  • This board includes a "Torus" channel as standard
  • Flax Bio Resin (as displayed) is not included. Please choose below.

I love this board. There is enough volume for me to catch almost any wave and it is still very manueverable. I no longer have to wait around the dregs of the long-boarders that congregate at my local surf spot.

The RTT is a speed machine! You know you’ve got a great board when everything just feels right. As soon as I picked it up, I knew the board was going to be good. Same in the water, as soon as I paddled on it, the board was balanced and just seemed to glide. Super easy to paddle into waves and really fun to surf...I couldn’t be more happy with my Gary McNeill RTT

Wasn't too sure about the board at first as I haven’t had much experience on a twin fin but persevered with it and quickly learned to enjoy it. Now it’s pretty much the most ridden board in my quiver.

Love it, could possibly go a little more volume, but otherwise i love it.

The twin fin goes really well in 2 foot plus and okay in 1-2. Likes a clean face to put down clean rail to rail turns, also has really good drive off the bottom and controlled release when wanted.

Great board, really happy - dudes look at it in the car park all the time. Good measurements for me and my wife wants one.

The RTT goes really sick. It floats a lot better than it seems based on the streamlined dimensions. Personally I was worried it wouldn't ride enough like a fish, but so far it has felt really solid, effortless speed, clean arching manoeuvrability. I'm using the (Futures) Sea Shepard keels and they are super good, great momentum with great control on small to medium sized waves. I was surprised how responsive it was, very controlled and simple to surf, it feels lively and cooperative.

For a little fish this board is amazing, it handles the juice, it also feels short, I think I could have easily gone a 6'0 as flying down the line would not be impacted by an extra couple of inches. Gary's boards are very refined so don't hesitate to get some extra thickness, he will hide it and performance will not be impacted. Will be tring this board some twin fin fins also, hold is amazing with the Rasta keels.

Incredible board! Now surfed in different type of waves and it works well on fat to hollow waves. I tried 4 different fins on the RTT and mainly surf it with the Akila Aipa as it drives like mad and gives it a nice loose feeling. For bigger steeper days when take offs are going to be challenging, I surf it with the Rasta twins as it is still fast but provides added hold on the drop! The wide surface area of the board gives it a very forgiving and comfort feeling while riding the waves. Natural speed flows into long nice carves or loose fins out depending on the fins you use. I surfed the RTT on small to 4ft reef breaks and fat to hollow. I found it most fun on fat onshore days.
