Sick board. I was choosing between this and a blackbox 2. Glad I went with the Monstabox, it seems to have more versatility. I have no problems catching waves when it's waist high and I've surfed it up to just over head. It holds rail really well and the board has quite a large sweetspot, which is great if you're like me and find your feet aren't always in the perfect position. The hifi is also super light and seems to be quite strong, the footwells aren't all that noticeable. Totally recommend this one. Yeeewww!

This was recommended by Matt at Surfboard Empire as a good option for getting back into surfing off a back injury. The tail is really wide so there's a lot of lift there to help you through slower sections and the rails are full. I ordered the PU because I needed to go custom for Futures fin boxes but for some extra help in mushy surf and longevity the C4 construction is worth a look.
This would make an ideal first shortboard stepping down from a longboard or fun board, or sized down as a groveller that can still hold in waist to shoulder high surf.

Looking for that everyday fun board that works from 1ft beachie mush burgers to 4 ft point perfection? Look no further! I bought this little gem just to complete the quiver but it turned out to be the Best Buy I’ve done in a while. Paddles like a dream so you get in the waves nice and early. Flat rocker allows you to make those flatter sections easily. Pulled in square tail gives it control in the more hollow sections. Ride it as a quad for that nice skatie feel or as thruster if you’re looking for a more performance feel. As with all DHD boards you can’t fault the quality: quality foam and strong glassing makes this little beast last!

I surfed this board in Lakey peak and it went ok in the heavy surf. the thing that bothered me the most was that it had so much rocker and it was hard to paddle and didn't go to fast on waves. however it had so much pop and even with little speed I could launch off the lip and its stability due to the width let me land a couple of rotations. I surfed with the old Kelly Slater 2.0 fins by FCS and the suited it well but the when I turned to small accelerators, they super charged the board and I could push so hard on them. due to the loaded rocker I could fit the board in the pocket and set the rail really nicely to do super tight fast turns. in fact that's what I liked so much about the board. I could transition rail to rail so quickly and the board let me hold rail as well. A very lively board suited to good waves and I really enjoyed surfing it.

This is an amazing board, it cuts through the waves like a hot knife through butter. Really easy to control if you are starting out and it is such a fun board to use.

For starters, this thing looks sweet. Its got that old retro look to it but also a very modern take on it. The flat deck and wide nose makes it easy to paddle and get into waves quick and early.
The channeled bottom makes the board insanely fast, drivey, and manoeuvrable. This board makes the most out of those small, mushy waves and it has turned into my go to board in these California waves. It’s the greatest combination of speed and responsiveness.
You gotta give this thing a go!

Sick everyday driver for South East Queensland, surfed it 2ft to 8ft cyclone swell. Also took it to Samoa on a recent trip and it was sick on the reefs too. I used to ride a PU Monstabox (6'0) as my everyday board but i think I like this better. Highly recommend for most conditions 2-6 ft.
