Fantastic board all round
Hadn’t bought a new board in several yrs!
Should’ve upgraded a long time ago.
I didn’t think I’d be surfing on a board this small it shows that the technology has come a long way!

This board isn’t just for bigger waves. The thing goes nuts even in the smaller stuff. The board paddles great allowing you to get in early and set your rail. It is just as as responsive as my normal short board allowing me to still turn tightly in the pocket. I’d this board works perfect in anything from punchy 3-4ft to 6ft+.

I really love this board, I bought it just as a summer groveler and to share with my daughter as a learn to surf board. But I seem to ride it all the time when the condition aren't the best for a short board and it's sick. You really do catch surf with these boards so much fun, they turn a shit surf into a good surf . Just swap the fins out for fcs 1 or fcs 2 fins and you'll need to do a bit of tweaking and it becomes a weapon.

Bought this board from Boardcave 5 years ago and finally getting around to throwing a review on the site haha! I recall wanting a board with a shorter wider outline that's good for punts and punchy waves. Opted for a custom a little wider with a round tail, I'd recommend sticking with the stock dims. Overall this board was great and fit the description. Gave it a good belting and it lasted. Boys at Boardcave do an unreal job too, great service!

Absolute knife when the swell is overhead, great for punchy beaches and solid reef breaks. As a pretty light bloke have struggled with manoeuvrability with a lot of boards (probably buying them a bit thick and narrow for what I needed).
The DX-1 was the first board I got that allowed me to really snap at sections on a chasey wave that didn’t allow for more drawn out carves. Does struggle a bit when the waves have a flatter face, but when the beaches im used to surfing amp up a bit, it’s my go to board. Really allowed me to stick to the face more when the waves got vertical.
Downsides: it’s not nearly as forgiving as the boards I usually ride - although the tail rocker doesn’t seem huge, makes a big difference if you’re on a more lumpy wave with multiple swell directions - have to really control my reflex to shift my foot to the tail pad Too early before setting up a big turn. Your speed is hugely depend on your distribution of weight, and can ruin a perfect wave for ya if you’re not tuned into it.
Upsides: incredible manouverability, sits in the steeper wave faces like where’s Wally at a hipster cafe, is durable as all hell and never skids out no matter how hard you spin the bastard.
Verdict: incredibley versatile board when the waves start pumping, never been outgunned on this slick stick. If James Bond surfed (thank fuck he doesn’t, but anyways) this is the board he’d be taking out, the saucy minx.

Epic board, really fast and drivey down the the line. Paddle monster, my wave count has gone through the roof. Tends to hold a line but can be a little stiff to throw around because of the channels. You need to rip it but have got the hang of it it’s all time. Can ride in all conditions
Bought 6’2 with 32.5L. I normally ride a 33 - 34L board but still feels like plenty of foam and heaps under the chest with the flat deck. Channel runs through the tail rail.
Frothing would buy again in a flash

This board is absolutely wicked. Insanely good maneuverability. The board holds in overhead and hollow waves as well as being able to perform in small sloppy 1-2 ft conditions, nice drive and speed down the face. This board is a great all-rounder and am super stoked on it.
