The Utopia by DHD Surfboards was born out of an experiment between Mick Fanning and shaper Darren Handley. When designing the MF Twin and experimenting with fast shapes the Utopia was a shape that Mick kept going back to for it's speed, he said it was the fastest board he had surfed. After further testing, other DHD team riders praised the shape for its speed with Liam Obrien riding the Utopia into the quarter finals at the U.S Open of surfing.
