The White Tiger by Pyzel is a fun, stout shortboard made for average to below average waves. It's the latest offering in the brand's Funformance range. It readily picks up speed and glides through the weaker sections of the wave while still allowing you to boost airs and smash the lip.
The first one was a side project board for John John Florence, who primarily rides performance boards and rarely rides "fun" boards. Pyzel created a few for his younger brother Ivan during the time it remained in his garage, which was about a year. Ivan started telling them how much he loved it and sent videos of him hitting massive carves and boosting airs on it right away. It was the ideal design to suit his surf/skate style When John John finally pulled his out, he had a blast. Since then, it's one of his favourite boards to play around on when he has some time off tour.
Depending on your surfing skill, we advise you to ride the White Tiger anywhere between 2 and 5 inches shorter, 1/2 to 1 inch broader, and with a little more volume than usual. (JJF and Ivan both ride 5'6" White Tiger boards; their standard height is 6'0").
