What is DHD EpoxiCore?
DHD EpoxiCore is the result of addressing the positive attributes of both traditional fibreglass and epoxy
construction.
EpoxiCore is an epoxy board that has been designed with superior weight distribution specifically designed to
eliminate speed "chatter" and improve rail performance. Typical epoxy construction resists connecting with the wave at
critical points in turns while
EpoxiCore will provide the control necessary to complete desired
manoeuvres.
Control Flex
The control flex contained in the bottom half of the board is the most exciting feature, almost like a compressed spring
releasing its energy into the surfer, giving you the confidence to take your surfing to the next level.
Rail Performance
The weighted rails allow you to bury the rail and provide you with the necessary control to complete desired
manoeuvres.
Velocity
Superior weight distribution eliminates speed chatter while maintaining a solid connection with the water.
Over thirty years of shaping experience has led head shaper Darren Handley to create a board that brings together the
positive attributes of both traditional fibreglass and epoxy construction. The development team at DHD embraced the
project exploring new technology, design and manufacturing techniques.
World Champions Mick Fanning, Stephanie Gilmore and Jack Freestone were active members of the development team, all
willing to provide their knowledge and ultimately be the test pilots for this exciting project. Their enthusiasm for
EpoxiCore drove the
DHD team to realise their goal and
deliver both their team and surfing enthusiasts the ultimate surfing experience.
"It makes me want to surf" - Stephanie Gilmore
"This board is a game changer" - Jack Freestone
"The unique thing is you still have the forward momentum of a regular board but with the core making it ideal for
someone who wants to ride an epoxy" - Mick Fanning
