SMTH Shapes

The Humanoid by SMTH Shapes is designed as a versatile all round surfboard to help you get as many waves as possible without sacrificing performance. Originally called “The Wave Snatcher’ for good reason, it features a fuller outline with more width around the nose to help with paddling and getting into waves earlier. Combined with a pulled in rounded-pin tail, this hybrid surfboard is a great one board quiver option.

The tail offers stability in the barrel and will help you lean into some heavy footed carves, while maintaining control when surfing tight in the pocket. The Humanoid is well balanced with volume in all the right places. The board has a relaxed entry rocker into a flat mid section for natural down the line speed without compromising top to bottom surfing. The bottom setup has a soft single concave that runs into a deeper double out through the fins.

The Humanoid comes standard as a thruster (3 fin) but works well in a quad for serious tube shooting order as a 5 fin if you want the flexibility of both options. The all-rounded nature of this design makes it an excellent choice for surf trips. Tested by Jordy Smith and reviewed positively by Matt Wilco for Surfing Life Sled Review. (see below).
