This board has been a welcome addition to the quiver. I love the teardrop outline as the extra width under your chest with the pulled in tail means you feel the extra paddle power yet it drives so fast down the line and draws more classic lines. I'm riding with True Ames Gary McNeil twins with a futures mini trailer. My go to whenever the waves are small.

Has been my board of choice for waves with a little more shape to them. In saying that it does also work in fuller conditions just requires a little bit more effort to get it going. Opted for more of a squash tail to offer a bit more versatility in a wider array of conditions. Performed well on rail and has plenty of bite when pushed hard through turns. In general a good all rounder for a fairly wide variety of conditions, but really comes to life in steeper surf. Ridden from 1-6ft.

Felt smaller than 5”9 when I was getting used to this board as I Kept stepping off the back of it but adjusted stance narrower and it was quick off the mark. No flex in it especially with the beak nose and it carved rather well despite my head thinking it was more for wafting (fish like but not). I Always get JRs with futures and the JJFs felt great but might contribute to the lack of drift in the tail. Found it to be a great board for windy on shore surf as it was easy to slot under your feet and get on with it. Had it for over 12 months and it still holds up- these guys always use good quality blanks and the glassing has never let me down around key areas such as fin boxes (owned 3 previous JRs) and would go again

Custom ordered board and thruster only. This has been one of the best small wave boards I have ever ridden. Works best in conditions from knee to head high surf. Will handle a bit more size but I prefer it in the size range mentioned. I usually only pull it out if it’s small and sub par conditions. Paddles easy with volume up under chest and carries well through flat sections. More a high performance grovellor than a grovellor.

Having only really ridden flat rocker grovellers (due to the waves I mostly surf)I thought I would upgrade to a higher performance board when the waves actually got good here. Was pleasantly surprised with how easy a board with a little rocker in the right places would turn on a wave with some juice. Mines a custom but really happy with the way it surfs. Super easy to turn despite my high volume and it paddles pretty well too. Looking forward to taking it to indo.

One the best boards I've ridden in small to medium waves! Super fast and responsive with the Tri-Flex construction. Would definitely recommend this board to anyone looking for a small wave performance board!
