Set mine up as a quad. Easy to paddle, picks up waves nicely, gets up and goes down the line, nice and quick with forward foot placement, move back on the tail and it snaps around. Great overall performance. Very forgiving.

I’m a tall bloke over 100kg. Have surfed all my life but wanted a versatile board with volume for a range of conditions . The DHD Black Diamond has been great in medium sized surf but also in larger Indo swell. It’s probably DHDs answer to the HyptoKrypto. Great all round board to have in quiver !

Had a great first session on this board. While waves had some size and power conditions were a bit bumpy but the board performed extremely well. I bought it as a step up for planned Indo trip at the end of the year (now canned) and wanted some extra paddle power for longer sessions in the water. Looking forward to trying it on some better quality waves.

DRIVE/SPEED: With your foot over the fins the board can be pumped along the face to generate speed to beat the lip. MOVABILITY The board can come down the face before a quick stall into the barrel. Bottom turns can be drawn out before snappy cutbacks. PADDLE POWER This is a definite strength. I find it easy to paddle in despite being on my volume limit. The lack of a third thin and presence of channels allow for less drag. STABILITY Surprising stability here. You can feel the board gripping into the wave once you've dialled in your positioning and put it on the rail. QUALITY The board looks amazing and is considerably strong. I went out on a heavy closing day on the weekend and wondered when I would pop up to see a ding in the deck or bottom. There were no dings despite the fact I shouldve come in before the waves got heavy and weren't holding. OVERALL: Overall this board is sick and I cant wait to get onto some high quality faces to really test the turning ability.

As an old bloke getting back into riding performance boards I was pleasantly surprised by the ease in which the Sweet Spot picked up waves. I was expecting a hard paddle to catch waves but the 6' 6" just glided into them. Once the rails dug in it was very easy to manoeuvre and set up for the next turn. I was also worried about having the extra volume under my chest but I hardly noticed it. The plan was to use the Sweet Spot as my step up board for a trip to Indo but that is on hold now. Just have to keep practicing on West coast of Victoria waves.

I bought this board with the idea of getting better on a more performance orientated board. Right from the get go I feel that I have been surfing better. I joke with my mates that it must be the board but maybe there is some truth to the humor. There has even been some take offs I think the board actually saved me so I could keep riding the wave. I love it. Would definitely recommend this board and buy another one.

Excellent board for paddling power and manoeuvres. Ideal board from beginner through to advanced. Good for knee high waves and above. If you only have one board to travel this is the go to board which suits most conditions. Get one now and have fun!!
